Does the new Medicare Workers Compensation Reporting Fine Affect You?

You may have read about a $1,000 per day fine for not reporting Workers Comp Injuries to Medicare.  Many are reporting that Employers are responsible for reporting this.  You are only responsible for reporting if you are a “RRE” (responsible reporting entity). If you purchase Workers Compensation from a Insurance Carrier you are not the “RRE”, the insurance company is.  If you are self-insured, however, you are the RRE.
