History of Professional Insurors
Professional Insurors began operations in 1977 with offices in Oklahoma City and Dallas under the name Property Insurors, Inc. Cliff Miller and a partner were the sole stockholders and the firm specialized in coverage for apartments.
In 1978, Property Insurors, Inc. of Oklahoma City became Property Insurors Consultants Agency, Inc. owned 100% by Cliff Miller. The agency volume at that time was approximately $1,000,000 in property and casualty premiums primarily in multi-housing risks.
During the 1980's Property Insurors expanded by continuing their philosophy of target marketing. The agency added satellite offices in Lawton, Duncan and Broken Arrow along with producers and specialty programs. The agency grew to over $6,000,000 in sales and 26 employees.
The 1980's offered many challenges for Oklahoma businesses, the collapse of major Oklahoma banks and the decline of the Oklahoma economy eliminated many businesses and reduced the size of others. To adjust to the times, the decision was made to down size from a staff of 26 to Cliff, his son Kelly Miller, who joined the agency in 1987, and 5 key personnel. It was the right move as the agency returned to immediate profitability.
Early in 1990 Property Insuors again began to add producers and develop new target markets. The strategy was to build in a controlled way, adding support staff as each producer developed a book of business.
In 1997 Property Insurors, who just 10 years earlier had to down size, was honored by being named one the "Metro 50" ; an award given to the 50 fastest growing privately held companies in Oklahoma City. PI also was recognized two more times and is one of the few companies over 20 years old to be listed in multiple years.
October 1st, 1999, Property Insurors became Professional Insurors. The name change was made to reflect the growth and diversity of the agency. Professional Insurors is still a specialist; the difference now is we have multiple specialist creating a diversified independent agency.
January 1, 2009, after a 5 year planned transition, Kelly Miller purchased Professional Insurors. The Agency has continuted to grow and add producers. It has also started a seperate entity, TCOR Services USA, LLC to provide services to our clients in our efforts to focus on their Total Cost of Risk (TCOR).
Professional Insurors has received multiple awards for growth, management, and automation including the prestigious "Best Practices Agency" award from 2007-2011. This award recoginzes the leading agents and brokers in the United States in several categories including financial stability.
