OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma House has passed legislation that critics say limits workers compensation benefits for workers who suffer soft tissue injuries.
House members voted 62-33 for the measure Monday and sent it to the Senate for a vote.
The bill by Rep. Dan Sullivan of Tulsa says a claimant who has had surgery for a soft tissue injury on the recommendation of a doctor can get an extension of total compensation of no more than 16 weeks.
If surgery is not recommended or recommended but not performed within 90 days, benefits are to be terminated.
Sullivan says the bill clears up legal guidelines for courts to follow.
But Rep. Richard Morrissette of Oklahoma City says they are too restrictive and place the interest of companies over injured workers.

Iam writing this because I found out about this soft tissue law I was injuried in 2006 at work because somebody else did something wrong it wasnt my fault. It was a crush injury and sprain ankle it caused rsd weeks after the pain is all the time along with many problems I have with it I have received many blocks just to maintain my pain along with medications, I try to stay as active as I can Iam already loosing strenghth in my foot. Symtoms have moved to my other foot. If you have done research on this horrible disease you would not take this law so lightly. I worry what my future is going to be like me and my husband are still young and active. Every case should be handled different because it is. Please look into to this disease. Thank you Lisa Enix
